Review: This product is poorly designed, particularly in the method of assembly. There’s very little hardware included; instead it relies on the components themselves fitting tightly together. Because the tolerances are tiny, any variation in manufacturing causes misalignment between the adjoining parts, requiring extra force to assemble. Because the metal is so thin, the additional force deforms the parts - almost to the point of breaking (and beyond, depending on how hard you try to compensate for the misalignment by banging on it harder). The result is an assembly that is not stable (or doesn’t remain assembled at all).

I bought two sets of shelves and was able to assemble the first one relatively easily. The second set, which should have been easier as I had successfully gone through the process already, simply cannot be assembled with the parts I received. Trust me when I tell you that the video showing the parts fitting easily and perfectly together is movie magic.

Review: I ordered this system in white which is 25 inches wide. However, Ikea does not make or sell the shelves in white to go along with it. If you want shelves for this unit, you have to either buy black metal or black with plywood. Who would put up white posts with black shelves? Avoid this width in white.

The only issue I had was that the stabilizing bar on the back was a little short to fit into the holes - after summoning some 'Hulk'-like strength, my husband and I got it to fit. Definitely would recommend.

Review: Putting the shelving units together, I thought they would be great. I liked the support bar in the middle of each shelf and the X-support across the back. Unfortunately, they are incredibly wobbly. I'll definitely be attaching them to the wall, but I would return them if I wasn't so far from a store. The standard utility shelves I already own look almost as good, and I don't have to worry about them falling over.
